A cast iron fireplace insert heats up more slowly than a steel one, but stores heat and keeps releasing it long after the fire has gone out. Cast iron is also resistant to deformation at high temperature. This is why people who light fires regularly and want steady, long-lasting heat, rather than a quick top-up, choose a cast iron fireplace.
HEATING cast iron inserts are built-in appliances, not free-standing stoves. All of them have energy class A, a 100 mm combustion air inlet, and run on wood.
The HEATING PRO EKO 10 kW is a corner cast iron fireplace with a side glass panel on the left or right – for an enclosure where the fire should be visible from the side. The HEATING EKO 10 has a single straight glass panel and the smallest dimensions in the range. The HEATING PRO 3 is a three-sided insert for a peninsula enclosure, with the fire visible from three sides. The HEATING PRO PW is a cast iron fireplace with a water jacket: of its 14 kW output, 7.5 kW goes to the central heating system, and the jacket holds 31 l of water.
A water jacket lets you heat the whole house, not just the room with the fireplace: the insert connects to the central heating system and feeds radiators or underfloor heating, and with the right setup, domestic hot water too. The installation needs circulation pumps, a controller and a backup power supply (UPS or generator), so the scope of the connection should be agreed with a heating engineer.

Yes – every HEATING cast iron insert has a 100 mm combustion air inlet that is routed outside, so the insert does not draw air from the room.
The HEATING PRO EKO 10 kW – it has a side glass panel on the left or right, 10 kW of output and compact dimensions of 622 × 655 × 410 mm.
With 7.5 kW delivered to the water circuit, the insert covers the heating needs of a four-person family home or larger; the final sizing requires a technical consultation and a check of the installation.
The HEATING EKO 10 and PRO 3 have a cast iron body and chamber lining, while the PRO PW has a vermiculite lining. No model requires firebrick to be replaced.
